1) Tyler Clippard, RP, Washington Nationals

Team: Jeff Paur, RTSports | Roster

I was just looking to handcuff my Drew Storen pick with this one. Clippard can be used even if Storen is healthy, but I doubt he sees my lineup much unless injury occurs. I looked at some other options in this spot but didn't see much potential with any of them, so felt handcuffing Storen was the way to go.

2) Joey Devine, RP, Oakland Athletics

Team: Tim Heaney, KFFL | Roster

I grabbed Kyle Farnsworth here last year; that worked out well. This year, I wanted a piece of the Oakland saves picture. Injury has derailed this massive talent over the last few seasons, and I'm betting on him sticking in the closer run. If it doesn't happen, whatever, he'll be a drop.

3) R.A. Dickey, SP, New York Mets

Team: Doug Anderson, RotoExperts | Roster

Dickey gets no love. He had an ERA under 3.00 in 2010 and just over 3.00 last year. He even bumped his strikeout total into the 130's last year. He'll make a nice swing man between my bench and rotation. Plus, I giggle just a little bit every time I say his name.

4) Fautino De Los Santos, RP, Oakland Athletics

Team: Josh Shepardson, The Hardball Times | Roster

The A's closer role is up in the air with the departure of Andrew Bailey. I grabbed the guy I view as the favorite, Grant Balfour, earlier in the draft. Tim Heaney scooped up another closing candidate by taking Joey Devine. Of the handcuffs to Balfour, De Los Santos is my favorite. He throws gas, averaged 95.8 mph on his fastball and misses bats. Control could hold him back, but not a bad last-round lottery ticket.

5) Mike Leake, SP, Cincinnati Reds

Team: Bill Macey, Baseball HQ | Roster

In 2011, Leake was frequently fantastic for the first few innings before struggling the third time through the order. He's young, so I'm investing on that improving with age.

6) Rafael Soriano, RP, New York Yankees

Team: Nicholas Minnix, KFFL | Roster

This draft ends in mid-February. Opening day is a few days into April. I ask myself: Who is the player I'd be most pissed to lose in the meantime? And then, I draft some insurance. You may view David Robertson as the choice there (and screw Ray Flowers for sneaking him in at the wire). I think Soriano's contract, experience, performance late in 2011 and prospects to bounce back make him the likelier candidate to fill in on a long-term basis. Hopefully, I don't have to worry about Mo, anyway.

7) Aroldis Chapman, RP, Cincinnati Reds

Team: Mark Chamberlin, Baseball Sharks | Roster

Honestly, he'd have been my 25th-round pick had I noticed he was available. Shame on me. The end of the draft is all about upside and Chapman is full of it as he transitions to starter.

8) Luke Gregerson, RP, San Diego Padres

Team: Howard Bender, FanGraphs | Roster

Consistent, solid ratios and last season's unusually low K/9 should come right back up towards 9.00 this year. He was first in line behind Heath Bell but now sits behind an always fragile Huston Street.

9) Shelby Miller, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

Speculating for closures in OAK

Team: Pasko Varnica, Mastersball | Roster

Being that this is the last pick, instead of going through the muck for a bench guy, I decided to pick someone with high potential. If you are in a keeper league, Shelby Miller is by now gone; if not, get him.

10) Seth Smith, OF, Oakland Athletics

Team: Joe Hamrahi, Baseball Prospectus | Roster

Smith quietly put together a nice little season in Colorado last year. In fact, he put together three nice seasons in a row if you think about it (OPS of .889, .783, and .830). Going to Oakland probably won't help his rate statistics, but he should get more playing time and hopefully accumulate more runs, RBI, and SB.

11) David Robertson, RP, New York Yankees

Team: Ray Flowers, Baseball Guys/SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio | Roster

Went with this great bullpen arm instead of starters Homer Bailey, Aaron Harang, A.J. Burnett and Ryan Vogelsong. Obviously there are plenty of arms left on the waiver wire.

12) Homer Bailey, SP, Cincinnati Reds

Team: Steve Gardner, USA TODAY/Sports Weekly | Roster

He's this draft's Mr. Irrelevant, but Bailey does actually possess some untapped potential. Rushed to the majors at age 21, Bailey seems like he's been around forever, but he's still just 25. He's gradually made improvements each year, especially with his control. Who knows? This could be the year he breaks out.
