How can you rank posey up that high in the catcher rankings? Him coming off a major injury, I would be more likely to rank McCann, Weiters, Napoli above him, Mccann just seems to get it done every year, it may be boring, but it is consistent.

ZachO and mike, he wasn't showing up because of a backend error. He's there now and in our top 10 among closers. Thanks for pointing that out, and we hope you're enjoying the rest of the Draft Guide!

I think you need to add a stat in the rankings for pitchers. That stat would be K/9IP.Ks alone may not reflect a pitcher's value in this area if his previous IPs were on the low end. A high K/9 gives a look at a pitcher's ability to get out of trouble and impacts ERA and WHIP. A low K/9 means hitters are getting contact and more balls in play can adversely affect ERA and WHIP. This stat also allows one to project an actual number of Ks if a pitcher is going to break into a rotation or move up in the order for his team.

Why is Billy Butler ranked over David Ortiz when your projections for Ortiz are better over every category?
7
Nicholas Minnix, at 12:41 on 03/22/12, says:
Anonymous, apologies for the late reply, but for you and future readers, it's because Butler's BA (the one category in which Ortiz isn't over Butler) is significantly better - in about 85 at-bats more than Ortiz. As you'll note, the dollar value of each isn't much different, but those facts make up the difference and then some for Butler. This isn't just a set of rankings evaluated with an eye test; we calculate the comparative value of all projected statistics. You can consider the two players roughly in the same tier (judging from their similar dollar values) and choose based on preference.
