Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Mark Trumbo (ankle) recently was cleared to perform baseball activities; he has been fielding ground balls with a third baseman's glove, "getting my hands working, my feet." Trumbo said he is feeling much better, and the team doesn't expect him to become the everyday third baseman this season. "Our intention is not to put him out there 120 times next year," general manager Jerry Dipoto said. "The introduction to third base — it's not as if we were looking to turn him into an everyday third baseman. That was not the goal. But if Mark can become comfortable enough there to be an option at times along with first base when Albert needs a blow, DH and the corner outfield spots ... it puts Mark in position to make his impact on our roster."
