"It was a basic debridement of some cartilage in his left wrist," said Cherington. "(It's a) relatively routine procedure. We expect Carl to be recovered and hitting at some point during Spring Training. We're not going to put an exact timeline on it." Crawford had soreness in his wrist while hitting early in January.

Starting Pitcher

SP | Tim Hudson | Atlanta Braves | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, Atlanta Braves general manager Frank Wren isn't sure SP Tim Hudson (back) will be ready for the start of the season. "It's too early to know at this point. Everything is going well, he just may be slightly behind the other guys. Or he may not be. Or, we may choose to be a little more careful with him in spring, depending on how he responds. So there's some unknowns there, but it's going well so far. Quite frankly that's the beauty of having our pitching depth - if we need to slow him down, we have the personnel to allow that to happen."

He has been playing consistent long toss and has done a few flat-ground sessions. Arrieta threw all fastballs from a makeshift mound. "I definitely gained some mobility, but I don't feel any instability in my elbow," Arrieta said. "Everything feels solid, and a lot of that is attributed to the rehab, the strength and conditioning I did - just trying to stay on top of things. I wanted to work as hard as I could with the rehab to leave no room for setbacks."

SP | Tommy Hanson | Atlanta Braves | Injury, Fantasy,

"We've got a situation there where we've got probably six, seven, eight guys that will be in the area of starting and potential to be starters," Ryan said. "I wouldn't eliminate Duensing. I wouldn't eliminate (SP Anthony Swarzak). I wouldn't eliminate (P Matt Maloney). I wouldn't eliminate (P Scott Diamond). We're going to end up opening that thing up down there. Obviously we'll have decisions to make.
