The Cincinnati Bengals could show interest in free-agent WR Braylon Edwards (49ers), New Orleans Saints impending free-agent WR Robert Meachem and St. Louis Rams impending free-agent WR Brandon Lloyd during the offseason. The team is expected to look for a receiver to part with WR A.J. Green next season.

WR | Anquan Boldin | Baltimore Ravens | Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Anquan Boldin won a judgment of more than $280,000 in a lawsuit filed in Florida against his former agent. Boldin claimed the agent defaulted on a loan dating to 2004 that was intended for a new sports business. The judgment total includes interest and attorney's fees.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jordan Shipley (knee) is expected to be the slot receiver in 2012. He should return in time for training camp after suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 2.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jerome Simpson had 50 catches for 725 yards and four touchdowns in 2011, but he also had nine dropped passes, which was tied for seventh-worst in the NFL. "Of course , Jerome had moments of greatness and moments of what is going on?," offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said. Simpson is a free agent, as is fellow WR Andre Caldwell.


Tight End

TE | Delanie Walker | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers TE Delanie Walker (jaw) has not been cleared to play football, and he is scheduled to be re-examined Monday, Jan. 16. He will not play in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints Saturday, Jan. 14. However, he said he is pleased with his progress in recovering from a fractured jaw, and he might play in the NFC Championship Game if the 49ers can advance.

TE | Jermaine Gresham | Cincinnati Bengals | Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden is looking for improvement from TE Jermaine Gresham, even though he is the first TE in team history in 30 years to have 50 or more receptions in back-to-back seasons. Gruden said Gresham is still struggling with the offense. "He's as athletically talented, gifted tight end as there is in the league," Gruden said. "From the standpoint of experience running these route concepts, he's a little bit behind. But he can get up to speed in the offseason."

Washington Redskins PK Graham Gano (back) suffered two fractured bones in his lower back in Week 17 and has been rehabbing the injury since the end of the season. His recovery time is expected to be six to eight weeks.

The Dallas Cowboys may show interest in New Orleans Saints impending free-agent OG Carl Nicks if he hits the free agent market.


Defensive Line

DL | Israel Idonije | Chicago Bears | Free Agents
The Chicago Bears may be interested in re-signing impending free-agent DL Israel Idonije this offseason to be used as a third defensive end next season.

DL | Elvis Dumervil | Denver Broncos | Injury
Denver Broncos SS Brian Dawkins (neck) was doing some stretching and pre-practice drills Wednesday, Jan. 11, in hopes that he may be able to play in the team's Divisional playoff game against the New England Patriots Saturday, Jan. 14. DL Elvis Dumervil (ankle) and S David Bruton (Achilles') were also practicing.

DL | Torell Troup | Buffalo Bills | Injury
Buffalo Bills DL Torell Troup (back) said he will have to wait around 12 weeks before moving around normally and begin weightlifting after undergoing back surgery in December. He is wearing a big back brace now but will be able to take it off in about two months.

DL | Osi Umenyiora | New York Giants | Injury

San Francisco 49ers DL Justin Smith (knee) is battling a sore knee. He suited up for practice Tuesday, Jan. 10, and took part in individual drills. However, he is expected to be ready to play in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints Saturday, Jan. 14, according to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.


Linebacker

LB | Brian Orakpo | Washington Redskins | Injury
Washington Redskins LB Brian Orakpo (shoulder) had surgery to repair his left shoulder Tuesday, Jan. 10. He injured his left shoulder and pectoral muscle in Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. "Just had successful shoulder surgery in Pensacola," Orakpo posted on his official Twitter account. "(Thanks) everybody for their support!" Orakpo had nine sacks to lead the team for at third straight season.


Cornerback

CB | William Gay | Free Agent | Free Agents
Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent CB William Gay said he hopes to re-sign with the team but does not know if the team wants to bring him back.

CB | Aaron Ross | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants CB Aaron Ross (concussion) has passed all of his concussion tests and is cleared to participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 11.

CB | Leodis McKelvin | Buffalo Bills | Injury
Buffalo Bills CB Leodis McKelvin (shoulder) underwent surgery Tuesday, Jan. 10, to repair a shoulder injury.


Strong Safety

SS | Brian Dawkins | Denver Broncos | Injury

Offensive Coordinator

OC | Brian Schottenheimer | Free Agent | Transaction
Former New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer resigned after being told by the organization to get another job, or get out, according to a league source. The Jets owed Schottenheimer more than $3 million over the next two years, and it's unlikely that he'd walk away from that money. According to the source, the Jets created the impression that Schottenheimer would be back and otherwise talked him up in the hopes that he'd be hired elsewhere - and that the Jets would be off the hook for the buyout.
