Darvish's representatives are arguing that their client is a better all-around pitcher than Boston Red Sox SP Daisuke Matsuzaka, who signed a six-year $52 million deal with Boston. Texas reportedly is willing to go above the deal signed by Matsuzaka, but they hope they can remain close to those numbers. The deadline for the Rangers to work out a deal is Jan. 18.
