Fantasy football sleepers: PK - Week 13

by Cory J. Bonini on December 1, 2011 @ 11:55:32 PDT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 9 to Week 12, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Place kickers

Nick Folk, New York Jets at Washington Redskins

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Arizona Cardinals PK Jay Feely
    Feelin' Feely in Week 13?
Folk has successfully kicked 2.50 extra point attempts and 50.0 percent of his average of 2.00 three-point kicks per game. He has averaged 5.5 actual kicking points per game.
  • The Redskins have been friendly to the position of late. On average, kickers have made all of their 2.00 point-afters per game and 2.25 of their 2.75 field goal attempts have split the uprights. This translates to an average of 8.8 actual kicking points per matchup.

Jay Feely, Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys

Fantasy value: No. 1 or bench

  • Arizona has afforded Feely 1.75 per-game extra point opportunities, all of which were good, and he has made 71.4 percent of his field goal kicks (1.25-for-1.75 per game).
  • Dallas has allowed the position to average 1.50 extra point attempts (all made) and 1.75 of 3.00 field goal tries. Miami Dolphins temp kicker Shayne Graham made four of five kicks last week against this group; Arizona's offense is set up to have similar success (if that's what you want to call it) against Dallas this week.
