Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Marcedes Lewis, Jacksonville Jaguars (79 percent)

Plan ahead

The Jags' Week 9 bye made many forget Lewis' nine-target, four-catch, 45-yard Week 8. Sadly, that was the season best for the 2011 bust. On the bright side - if there is one with Blaine Gabbert at QB - Lewis also had an eight-look Week 6, and the season-ending injury to Mike Sims-Walker (knee), while irrelevant on the surface, might make the Jags want to continue force feeding their best 2010 target. Sure, it might've been coach speak, but Jack Del Rio recently expressed his desire to see Lewis more involved.

Jacksonville faces the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10, who've struggled against the pass in general, and in Week 11 face the Cleveland Browns, whose defense is showing its weaknesses. Lewis' TE2 value could help in the right setting, especially with Jimmy Graham and Owen Daniels on Week 11 byes.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Jeremy Shockey, Carolina Panthers (87 percent)

His off-week over, Shockey faces a Tennessee Titans defense that has allowed 5.67 receptions, 78.3 yards and 0.67 touchdowns per game to the position over the last month. Even with Greg Olsen being the No. 2 option in Carolina's passing game, Rob Chudzinski's TE-friendly offense makes Shockey the No. 3. Before his one-catch, one-touchdown Week 8, he was looked between four and seven times in each of his previous six games.
