"The middle linebacker is a huge key to that, as teams try to run the ball up the middle against your defense," head coach Hue Jackson said. "You got to make sure that you've got your stoutest guy in there to take that on."
- Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden (foot) has already been ruled out for the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos, and the team is hopeful of having him back for the Week 10 battle against the San Diego Chargers. However, the possibility exists he might miss that game, too, as he remains on crutches while wearing a protective boot due to a mid-foot sprain suffered in Week 7.
