Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones does not know whether QB Tony Romo (rib, lung) will be able to play in Week 3, saying the decision would primarily be based on managing pain. "I don't know. I really don't," Jones said during a radio interview Tuesday, Sept. 20. "I understand the nature of the injury as much as you can without being in medicine. We'll just have to see how it goes. It has everything to do with just his ability to handle the pain, and we know he has a bunch of it. We'll see how that goes. He'll be monitored obviously extremely closely regarding the pneumothorax and we'll see how it goes."

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (ankle) is wearing a walking boot on his right leg but expects to practice this week.

QB | Vince Young | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said Monday, Sept. 19, he would not reveal who will start at quarterback in Week 3 if QB Michael Vick (concussion) can't play. QB Vince Young (hamstring) has been slowed by a sore hamstring, but Reid said he's almost 100 percent.

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Mario Manningham (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of the Week 2 game against the St. Louis Rams. He banged his head on the turf after a 31-yard reception at the end of the second quarter. WR Victor Cruz and Brandon Stokley are seeing time in his stead.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said Monday, Sept. 19, that he expects WR Michael Crabtree (foot) to be back in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals. "Crab should be healthy this week and ready to go. And hopefully he is," Baalke said.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said Monday, Sept. 19, that WR Braylon Edwards (knee) is considered day to day. He suffered a sprained right knee in the Week 2 overtime loss against the Dallas Cowboys. "We've gotten the (MRI) results," Baalke said. "He's a little nicked up and day-to-day right now." Edwards was walking without crutches or a brace on his right knee at the team's offices Monday.

San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner indicated Monday, Sept. 19, that WR Patrick Crayton (ankle) might be active in Week 3.

San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said Monday, Sept. 19, that WR Malcom Floyd (groin) is "the only guy that would be in jeopardy of missing (practice) time during the week." Floyd suffered a muscle strain high on his leg in the second quarter in Week 2 against the New England Patriots.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson (groin) said Monday, Sept. 19, that he is still dealing with soreness in his groin. "I can feel it when I walk now," Johnson said. "Last week I didn't feel it when I walked, only when I got on the field. But now it's just there. So I guess with the extra treatment this week I'll be ready to go (in Week 3)." He estimated the pain is a seven out of 10.

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice (shoulder) is expected to practice this week, but a decision on his availability for the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals won't be made until after this week of practice, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Place Kicker

Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said OG Ryan Diem (ankle) is considered day-to-day after suffering an ankle injury in Week 2. Diem is wearing a walking boot on his left foot.

OT | Gabe Carimi | Chicago Bears | Injury
Chicago Bears OT Gabe Carimi (knee) has a dislocated right knee and could miss around four weeks because of the injury. It is not known if Carimi will need surgery on his knee.

OT | Jeff Otah | Carolina Panthers | Injury
Carolina Panthers OT Jeff Otah (concussion) was able to lift weights and ride a stationary bike Monday, Sept. 19, after missing Week 3 because of a concussion. Head coach Ron Rivera said the team will know later this week if Otah will be cleared to play.


Guard

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Monday, Sept. 19, that he was impressed by the job OG Chad Rinehart did in replacing the injured OG Kraig Urbik (knee) in Week 2. Urbik is expected to miss at least two to four weeks, so Rinehart is expected to start at least through Week 4.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers LBs Mason Foster and Dekoda Watson might see more playing time in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons if LB Quincy Black (ankle) is forced to miss time.

New Orleans Saints LB Jonathan Casillas (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 2; however, the injury is not considered serious. Casillas later returned to the game. "I feel like it's nothing major," Casillas said. "It didn't feel too good when it happened. I put a brace on, went back out there and got a play."


Cornerback

CB | Terence Newman | Dallas Cowboys | Injury
Dallas Cowboys QB Terence Newman (groin) said via Twitter that he expects to return in Week 3. "I'm back this week and that's all I'm gonna say," Newman said.

CB | Domonique Foxworth | Baltimore Ravens | Injury
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday, Sept. 19, that CB Domonique Foxworth (knee) is playing "very conservatively" after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament a year ago.

CB | DeMarcus Van Dyke | Oakland Raiders | Injury
Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson said Monday, Sept. 19, that CB DeMarcus Van Dyke (leg) suffered a leg laceration in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, but the injury is not considered serious.

CB | Shawntae Spencer | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers CB Shawntae Spencer (hamstring) and FS Dashon Goldson (knee) have the chance to play in Week 3. Goldson did not play in Week 2 because of his injury and Spencer only played on snap in the game.

The Chicago Bears are hoping SS Chris Harris (hamstring) will be able to play in Week 3 after missing Week 2 because of a hamstring injury.


Free Safety

FS | Nick Collins | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Updating a previous item, Green Bay Packers FS Nick Collins (neck) is not suffering from a broken neck or a spinal cord injury, but he will still miss the rest of the season. Collins' agent said all signs are pointing to a disc issue. He will meet with specialists before deciding on the next move.

FS | Dashon Goldson | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers CB Shawntae Spencer (hamstring) and FS Dashon Goldson (knee) have the chance to play in Week 3. Goldson did not play in Week 2 because of his injury and Spencer only played on snap in the game.
