"I mean, he's got great command with all of his pitches, and he throws them in any count. That's really tough when you've got a guy who can sink the ball, who's got a good four-seamer, throws anywhere 90-91 (mph), has an over-the-top curveball, a cut slider and he has a good changeup to go with that." Pitching coach Jeff Jones initially asked why Fister didn't use his devastating curveball more often.

Relief Pitcher

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz thinks RP Alfredo Aceves should be in the starting rotation at this point in the season. "To be honest with you, the way things are going, he should be starting. It's as simple as that," Ortiz said. "I think at one point, he might be a starter. It all depends what the front office decides, but he's got good stuff, and we definitely need a guy that can come in and give us six or seven good innings. He seems like he's capable to do it, so we'll see."

But by using all of his pitches, when that 96 jumps out there or 98, it's really super fast."

RP | Jason Motte | St. Louis Cardinals | Fantasy,
St. Louis Cardinals RP Jason Motte will likely be a strong candidate to close for the team in 2012. His surge this year began in mid June after he developed a combination slider-cutter. "It's encouraging," general manager John Mozeliak says. "He's growing into a role people envisioned him having a few years back. He's got a powerful arm.
