What are the odds that you still own the relief pitchers you rostered in your fantasy baseball draft? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

  • New York Mets RP Jason Isringhausen
    Izzy dizzy, but not done
Jason Isringhausen stumbled for the second straight night, allowing a walk, a hit and a hit batsman Tuesday before a throwing error on a one-out grounder with the sacks jacked scored two runs (one earned). The New York Mets will rest Izzy on Wednesday, with Bobby Parnell likely getting the would-be save chance. Isringhausen still has a hold on the job for now, but his younger counterpart could be in the lead role by the end of the season.
  • Despite challenging the dubious mark of most homers allowed by a closer in a season, Huston Street isn't in danger of being removed from the Colorado Rockies' stopper slot. "What is he, 28 of 31 on saves?" said skipper Jim Tracy. Street's 10 homers put him on pace to top the record of 14.
The long-term speculation here is southpaw Rex Brothers, but that switch probably won't happen unless or until Colorado decides to ditch Street before his contract expires after next season.
  • In completing the trade that sent Doug Fister to the Detroit Tigers, the Seattle Mariners will receive 22-year-old right-hander Chance Ruffin, who profiles as an MLB savior. Keep an eye on him if Seattle decides to trade Brandon League down the road.
