What are the odds that you still own the relief pitchers you rostered in your fantasy baseball draft? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat series gives you no-nonsense ratings of performances, injuries and managerial decisions in MLB bullpens. Get your arm loose: Let's find fantasy baseball players in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league who'll get saves.

Mound meetings

  • Philadelphia Phillies RP Ryan Madson

Though Antonio Bastardo could still do the job if his companion needs a day off, it looks like Ryan Madson's period of being eased into closing is ending. He has converted the Philadelphia Phillies' last two save chances, including a perfect eight-pitch 10th Monday. Despite being the secondary option, Bastardo is well worth owning in mixed leagues for those who could use a stat-tuning RP.
  • It came during a tied score last night, but New York Mets stopper Jason Isringhausen allowed a grand slam in the 10th frame to take the loss. The fact that Izzy wasn't swapped at the trade deadline shows the Amazins want to keep him around, at least to mentor the young RPs. He might only remain closer until he nets his 300th save.
Isringhausen owners should continue to ride this wave if they're desperate for saves, but they - and other closure seekers - should tuck away Bobby Parnell, who could still factor into this situation at least in a part-time role before the season ends.
