Fantasy NASCAR RacingFantasy NASCAR rankings: Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400
Saturday’s qualifying session at Michigan was kind to former winners, and fantasy owners have to like the chances of seeing a familiar face in Victory Lane. Two-time MIS winner Kurt Busch grabbed the pole, and seven of the top-10 starters have won at the track, including fellow two-time winners Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle. Defending race winner Denny Hamlin is among the top-10 qualifiers as well. Fantasy owners have to like seeing Red Bull Racing teammates Kasey Kahne and Brian Vickers starting inside the top 10, especially Vickers. Both drivers have won at the track, and Kahne finished second in last year’s June race, but Vickers makes an intriguing sleeper pick. He missed both races at MIS last year with a medical issue, but he won the August race in 2009 and has a five-race top-10 streak entering Sunday’s race. While the top qualifiers offer plenty of fantasy punch on their own, owners shouldn’t be too worried about the big names starting further back. With three-wide racing a common sight and plenty of room to pass, drivers with fast cars will be able to get to the front during the course of 400 miles. Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick may be starting outside the top 20, but don’t expect them to finish there. More Articles You Will Like
