Quarterback

QB | Peyton Manning | Indianapolis Colts | Injury, Fantasy
The father of Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck), Archie Manning, anticipates Peyton will be ready for the regular season. However, he acknowledged that his son isn't recuperating as fast as he had expected to following neck surgery to repair a disk. "It's just been 10 days," Archie Manning said. "He's not where he wants to be. It's just something that came up and had to be done, so hopefully it'll work out."

QB | Alex Smith | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents
Oakland Raiders managing general partner Al Davis apparently looked into the availability of San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent QB Alex Smith. However, Smith appears to be a lock to remain the starting quarterback in San Francisco.

Running Back

RB | Brandon Jacobs | New York Giants | Free Agents
New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese said RB Brandon Jacobs is expected to remain with the team next season. Jacobs had expressed concern that the team would be unable re-sign impending free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw and keep him as well. Jacobs is under contract for two more seasons and will make $4.65 million this season. "I guess you have to consider the source when Brandon starts talking," Reese said. "You can't read a lot into what Brandon is saying sometimes. We do expect Brandon to be part of the football team this fall. He is under contract. Brandon does talk a lot and like I said, sometimes you got to tune some of that stuff out that he is talking about."

RB | Garrett Wolfe | Chicago Bears | Free Agents
Chicago Bears impending free-agent RB Garrett Wolfe is not in the team's plans after he was arrested earlier this offseason. Wolfe was not seen as a priority even before the arrest.

Wide Receiver

WR | Plaxico Burress | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Miami Dolphins represent a potential landing spot for free-agent WR Plaxico Burress (Giants).

WR | Sidney Rice | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
The agent for Minnesota Vikings WR Sidney Rice tweeted Monday, June 6, that his client is in the best shape of his life. "Any doubt regarding his hip injury is erased. He is in the best shape healthwise ever!," agent Drew Rosenhaus posted.

WR | Steve Smith | Carolina Panthers | Fantasy
Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith said Monday, June 6, that he has not attended any player workouts this week or last due to a health issue involving his wife. However, he did show up to a Triple-A Charlotte Knights minor league game to take batting practice with seven of his teammates. "Right now there's a lot of things on my plate with my wife and her health," Smith said. "My family needs me at home, and that's the most important thing."

WR | Dominique Zeigler | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers WR Dominique Zeigler (knee) said he has started running again but will not begin making cuts until next month. Zeigler suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the season.

WR | Limas Sweed | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Limas Sweed likely will have to perform well during the preseason and show that he is recovered from the Achilles' tendon injury he suffered last offseason if he wants to make the final roster. Sweed appears to be the No. 6 wide receiver on the depth chart at this point.

Tight End

TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley (knee) said he continues to rehab his injured knee and the knee feels great.

Offensive Line

OL | Ben Grubbs | Baltimore Ravens | Injury
Baltimore Ravens OG Ben Grubbs (ankle) said he has been able to do some running lately after undergoing surgery to remove bone spurs in his ankle earlier this offseason.

Defensive Line

DL | Aaron Kampman | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury
Jacksonville Jaguars DL Aaron Kampman (knee) is on the mend following a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last season. Kampman is optimistic he can regain his old form. "Hopefully I'm done," Kampman said. "I went through 16 years without an injury, and then back-to-back seasons. I've had my fill."

DL | Brandon Graham | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham (knee) said on his Twitter page that his injured knee is 75 percent recovered from the injury he suffered during the season.

Linebacker

LB | Manny Lawson | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents
The Miami Dolphins could show interest in San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent LB Manny Lawson and New York Giants LB Mathias Kiwanuka once free agency begins.

Cornerback

CB | Nnamdi Asomugha | Oakland Raiders | Free Agents
The Philadelphia Eagles are not expected to join the charge of teams interested in signing Oakland Raiders impending free-agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha. According to people close to the organization, there is an indifference toward Asomughha, mostly because he will cost a fortune but partly because he is a press cornerback who plays only the right cornerback position. The team also rarely, if ever, signs players 30 years of age or older to long-term contracts. Asomugha will turn 30 next month.

Strong Safety

SS | Quintin Mikell | Philadelphia Eagles | Free Agents
The Dallas Cowboys could show interest in Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent SS Quintin Mikell once free agency begins. The team could use Mikell at strong safety if he signed.
