"When his ball accidentally climbs up, it's an effective mistake." Rodriguez also reports that Nunez has trouble trusting his slider, which explains why he's thrown only 20 sliders and 33 changeups this year, while the remainder of his pitches have been fastballs, according to Baseball Info Solutions. Buck points out that Nunez's fastball and changeup are very similar in both speed and location, which is why he must locate them in different spots to confuse hitters.
