Clemson junior Jamie Harper brings a physical style of play to the 2011 NFL Draft's running back class.

Harper rushed for 760 yards on 197 carries and scored seven times on the ground in 2010 while splitting time with Andre Ellington. A quality receiver, Harper chipped in 37 receptions for 320 yards and three aerial touchdowns last year.

Strengths

• Patient runner with vision for zone blocking
• Short-range burst and acceleration (1.58-second 10-yard split)

Weaknesses

• Lacks breakaway speed (official 4.53-second 40-yard dash; 4.46 seconds at his Pro Day)
• Runs too upright - doesn't get enough leverage to be a true power back
• Never carried the load in college - unproven as a feature back
• Could be asked to play fullback, a position he doesn't seem fond of

Expected draft placement

Harper is likely a fourth-round pick in the draft. He could find some love in the third round, but questions about what position he will play and whether he can hold up to a full-time pounding at tailback exist.

The St. Louis Rams have recently expressed interest in Harper.
