Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson said his goal for the 2011 season is to rush for 2,500 yards, according to Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean. Johnson had set the same goal prior to the 2010 season, but he finished with 1,364 yards. "I have the same goal: 2,500," Johnson said. "I want to win more, but I still have the same goals. I want to go for 2,500 … It is very realistic. I had a good season last year. I know a lot of people said I didn't have a good year, but I did. When you put the stats up there, I had a good year. Some people say I had a bad year, but I set my standards so high people expect that."

Philadelphia Eagles FB Leonard Weaver (knee) vows to get back onto the field in 2011, although he still faces "an uphill battle," according to a separate source with knowledge of the injury, reports Jonathan Tamari, of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Weaver tore his anterior cruciate ligament and posterior lateral corner in his left knee Sept. 12, while also suffering nerve damage. He had surgery to repair the knee, follow-up surgery in November to clean out scar tissue, and a separate surgery last week to repair a tendon in his left foot.


Wide Receiver

The New England Patriots could be interested in signing Tennessee Titans impending free-agent WR Randy Moss this offseason if they look to add a big-play wide receiver, reports ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Arrelious Benn (knee) is in the early stages of his comeback, and he is not likely to participate in most offseason workouts, reports Stephen Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times. "Even Arrelious Benn has had his surgery," general manager Mark Dominik said. "You guys have been around Arrelious. You know what he's made of." Benn is making his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in Week 16.

Pittsburgh Steelers OG Chris Kemoeatu said Wednesday, Jan. 26, that Pro Bowl C Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) will not play in Super Bowl XLV against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Feb. 6, reports Mark Kaboly, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "We are definitely sad that he won't be able to be with us in the Super Bowl," Kemoeatu said. "Definitely I feel bad for him. We just have to win it for him. It's definitely a huge loss for us." Pouncey suffered a high ankle sprain in the AFC Championship Game against the New York Jets. There is no word from the Steelers or Pouncey's agent.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Barrett Ruud is scheduled to become a free agent in March, but general manager Mark Dominik indicated he wants to sit down with Ruud's agent to possibly bring him back in 2011, reports Roy Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune. "And as these things always go, there's always two sides to it," Dominik said. "Just because you say you want to sign him and because they say they want to be back, that doesn't mean that's how it's going to work out."
