Minnesota Twins RP Joe Nathan (elbow) will begin throwing breaking balls Wednesday, Jan. 26, for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery, according to the Pioneer Press' Charley Walters. Nathan will finish up a 27-day program of throwing fastballs off a mound this weekend. "Absolutely," Nathan said. "I don't plan on being left out of any drills or held back in any way. If something else says something differently, we'll go from there. But my mindset right now is that I'm closing and getting ready for the season. That's my plan. We'll see how it goes. There's always going to be a question mark." He spent most of last month throwing at 75-80 percent intensity.
