The team can void the final year if Beltre fails to reach either 1,200 plate appearances in 2014-15 combined or 600 in 2015. 3B Michael Young will shift to the designated-hitter role.

Sizemore is expected to begin throwing and hitting this week and is scheduled to begin testing his knee with light running next week. However, the team plans to take a conservative approach with his workouts, and he is unlikely to be cleared to play in games once Spring Training kicks off. Sizemore is still expected to be ready by Opening Day. OF Michael Brantley could move to center field if Sizemore is not ready for the regular season opener.
