Shortstop

SS | Marco Scutaro | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy
The Boston Red Sox reportedly could still trade RP Jonathan Papelbon, SP Daisuke Matsuzaka, OF Jacoby Ellsbury or SS Marco Scutaro, according to SportingNews.com. However, Papelbon and Matsuzaka would be tough to move because of their salary.

SS | Edgar Renteria | free agent | Free Agents
The Cincinnati Reds have had discussions about signing free-agent SS Edgar Renteria (Giants) as a utility infielder, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay.

Third Baseman

3B | Adrian Beltre | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Los Angeles Dodgers are unlikely to sign free-agent 3B Adrian Beltre (Red Sox) because of his high asking price, according to SportingNews.com.

Outfielder

OF | Scott Podsednik | free agent | Free Agents
Updating previous reports, the Cincinnati Reds are in talks with free-agent OF Scott Podsednik (Dodgers), The Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reports.

Starting Pitcher

SP | Justin Germano | Cleveland Indians | Transaction
Cleveland Indians SP Justin Germano accepted his outright assignment to Triple-A Columbus and received an invitation to spring training, The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.

SP | Bartolo Colon | free agent | Free Agents
Free-agent SP Bartolo Colon (White Sox) said that the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians have all shown interest in signing him, according to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan. Colon went 2-1 with a 1.93 ERA in seven starts while walking six and striking out 28 in 37 1/3 innings in the Dominican Republic Winter League.

Relief Pitcher

RP | Zach Miner | Kansas City Royals | Transaction, Free Agents
The Kansas City Royals signed free-agent RP Zach Miner (Tigers) to a minor league contract, according to the Royals' director of media relations David Holtzman.

RP | Rafael Soriano | free agent | Free Agents
Updating previous reports, the New York Yankees aren't pursuing free-agent RP Rafael Soriano (Rays), FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports.

RP | David Aardsma | Seattle Mariners | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Seattle Mariners RP David Aardsma (hip) was told he could resume his throwing program within four weeks, around Feb. 1, after he undergoes surgery on his hip Monday, Jan. 3, according to MLB.com's Greg Johns. However, it is unknown how much pitching Aardsma will be allowed to do in Spring Training. "It's too far away to judge," Aardsma said. "But from where I should start throwing to our first (preseason) game is four weeks. So it just depends. It's a lot easier as a reliever to be game ready as far as actual arm strength. If you're a starter, that's more of a concern. For me, the biggest thing is, if I can throw back-to-back days and have a consistent release point, then I'm game ready." The injury to Aardsma likely eliminates the team's chances of trading him this offseason.
