Washington Nationals OF Eury Perez was named Dominican Winter League Rookie of the Year, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson. Perez went 40-for-116 (.345) with a league-best 21 stolen bases.

The Milwaukee Brewers have broken off talks to re-sign free-agent SP Chris Capuano, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports. "Chris wants to be a starting pitcher and we don't see a match at this time," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said.
