If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Jordan Shipley, Cincinnati Bengals (86 percent)

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jordan Shipley
Clear waters ahead for Shipley

We don't know if Chad Ochocinco (ankle) will play in Week 17, but Shipley has a defined role as the underneath possession receiver in the offense even if No. 85 plays. While owners are flocking to Jerome Simpson after his big game against the San Diego Chargers, realize that a lot of his production came on a blown play by the San Diego defense. Shipley has more value in point-per-reception leagues and should be more consistent than the largely untested Simpson.

For as good as the Baltimore Ravens are against the run, their defense of wide receivers is equally the opposite. They have allowed 14.00 receptions for 178.7 yards and 1.25 scores per game to the position in the last month.

NEW - Naaman Roosevelt, Buffalo Bills (100 percent)

Roosevelt has seen 12 targets in the last two weeks - including nine in a four-catch, 74-yard Week 16 - since Lee Evans (ankle) was lost for the season. The Bills run their three- and four-wide sets often. David Nelson (ribs) is expected to miss Week 17, also, so more time should open up for Roosevelt in that event.

The Bills are facing the Jets, whose secondary depth is vulnerable. He might be matched up on Antonio Cromartie, but if Roosevelt can be moved around, he'll be able to better exploit a pass D that has allowed 10.25 catches, 140.3 yards and 1.75 touchdown grabs to opposing wideouts per game over the last four weeks.
