If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Andre Caldwell, Cincinnati Bengals (100 percent)

Cincinnati Bengals WR Andre Caldwell
TO's replacement

Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens (knee) went to the locker room early and learned he would miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus. Caldwell replaced him in the lineup and was targeted six times. He caught four of quarterback Carson Palmer's passes for 89 yards (22.3 yards per reception).

The Bengals have the San Diego Chargers in Week 16, which doesn't make for a safe play of Caldwell. We advise against relying on him, but you may want to add him for depth in case another owner planned to do the same. If your league extends beyond the 16-game framework of most setups, in Week 17, the young receiver faces the Baltimore Ravens' rather average pass defense.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Arrelious Benn, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (94 percent)

Benn has seen increasing work lately (22 targets, including two in the red zone, since Week 11) but hasn't capitalized outside of Week 4 (four catches, 122 yards). Josh Freeman's increased comfort with the talented Benn can pay off this week as the Bucs face the Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed 9.50 catches for 127.3 yards and 1.50 touchdown grabs per game to the position since Week 11. Opponents have taken advantage of Seattle's weak secondary.
