Fantasy football busts: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Note: All statistical averages are from Week 4 to Week 7, unless otherwise specified.

Fantasy football busts: Place kickers

Sebastian Janikowski, Oakland Raiders vs. Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1

  • Oakland Raiders PK Sebastian Janikowski
    Seabass a little salty
Seabass has been rock-solid in the past month, but his opportunities for three-pointers have been limited to 1.75 per game. Last week's thumping of the Denver Broncos elevated his per-game extra point average to 3.50 tries per contest. He hasn't missed any type of kick in his last four games and ranks tied for the eighth most real life kicking points per outing (8.8).
  • The Seahawks have been stout against enemy booters in their past three games. On average, place kickers have successfully attempted 1.00 extra pointers and have connected on 1.00 of 1.33 field goal tries.

Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers at New York Jets

Fantasy value: Bench

  • Crosby has been a big fantasy disappointment this year, and in the past four weeks not much has changed. He is kicking ample extra points (2.75 attempted and made per game), but his field goal tries leave something to be desired (1.50, making 1.00 per game). He has averaged 5.8 actual kicking points per game, which is worse than 29 other kickers in the past month.
