In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Seattle Mariners RP David Aardsma
    Aardsma will remain sidelined
David Aardsma (oblique) looks like he'll miss the final weekend. Expect the Seattle Mariners to keep filling his role with the capable Brandon League, who should be added everywhere immediately.
  • Bobby Jenks (forearm), on the other hand, threw a side session Wednesday and plans to participate in a simulated game Friday. He might be able to return in the final few days as both a gesture to Chicago White Sox fans and players, and for Jenks' potential free-agent value.
Maybe Jenks jumps ahead of Matt Thornton and Chris Sale once this weekend. Either way, all three of these relievers must be in save-desperate lineups.
