Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly. Key
Middle infieldersBrooks Conrad, 2B/3B, Atlanta Braves Conrad will likely fill in at the hot corner for most of what's left of 2010 for the Braves now that Martin Prado (oblique, hip) is toast. The switch-hitting Conrad has batted .241 with seven round-trippers, 28 RBIs and five thefts in 141 at-bats this season.
Conrad's numbers look more fashionable thanks to two pinch-hit grand slams, one a walk-off job, he hit earlier this year. He has played sparingly (4-for-19, with a double and a triple) this month. However, he's in the lineup. If he qualifies at second in your setup, he's a bit more interesting. Shallow mixed: Watch Deep mixed: Watch NL-only: Acquire Chris Nelson, 2B, Colorado Rockies With the Rockies eliminated from postseason contention, Eric Young Jr. (shin) sidelined for what's left and Clint Barmes (personal) away from the team, the club will let its 2004 first-round wrap up 2010 at the keystone. Nelson endured some not-so-smooth sailing after he became a pro out of high school, but this year he began to demonstrate some serious development. He improved his BB/K, his batting average and his slugging percentage, all while advancing from Double-A to Triple-A. Nelson, 25, has really quick hands and is far from a lost cause. He can hit 15 homers and steal 15 bases. He should be a factor in some job battle next spring.
