Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Maybe the M's were beginning to question what they'd received in the Cliff Lee trade. (OK, they were, but it wasn't because of Smoak.) It has been a disappointing year in the majors for the switch-hitting prospect Seattle received from the Texas Rangers in July.

Actually, Smoak, 23, hit a mere nine homers while batting .279 at Triple-A ball this year. He hasn't been anything special versus southpaws, either. But Smoak, 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, is still developing. With a frame like that, and his superb gap power (he still slugged .497 this season on the farm), he appears to be destined to grow as a power hitter.

Since the M's recalled him, in mid-September, he has played regularly, going 9-for-31 (.290). He punctuated that run with three hits, including a ding dong against left-hander C.J. Wilson, last night against his old club. Only six days left....
