I think Jimmy is going to do a nice job."

QB | Alex D. Smith | San Francisco 49ers | Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Johnson was out of football in 2008, but he spent the year studying the spread attack in college football, reports the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows. 49ers QB Alex D. Smith and WR Michael Crabtree both excelled in college when running the spread. According to TE Vernon Davis, Johnson seemed like a more creative guy than previous offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye, who was fired Monday, Sept. 27. "He's a little different than Jimmy Raye," said Davis. "He's a little more ... He's seems when I talk to him and when I'm around him, he seems to be creative. He seems like he's a creative guy, and he seems like he'll take chances, a lot of chances. And ... he's young and he's hungry. And I think it's a great opportunity for him."

RB | Clinton Portis | Washington Redskins | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis is still listed as the team's No. 1 running back on their most recent depth chart, reports Rick Maese, of The Washington Post. RB Ryan Torain has been listed as his top backup. Torain saw more action in the final half of their Week 3 game than Portis did, and head coach Mike Shanahan said the plan was for Torain to see more playing time on first and second downs. The depth chart released to the media each week is not necessarily what the coaching staff relies on, too.

RB | Willis McGahee | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
If Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice (knee) cannot play during Week 4 due to a bruised knee, RB Willis McGahee would get the starting nod against the Pittsburgh Steelers, reports The Associated Press. RB | Michael Bush | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy

RB | Frank Gore | San Francisco 49ers | Fantasy
The Kansas City Chiefs defense was calling out the plays, often successfully, that the San Francisco 49ers offense was running in their Week 3 matchup, according to what a source told CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco. He spent two to three hours a day in the personal oxygen chamber he keeps in his basement.

WR | Hakeem Nicks | New York Giants | Fantasy
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said WR Hakeem Nicks must do a better job of catching the football, according to Mike Garafolo, of the Star-Ledger. In Week 3, there was an interception off the hands of Nicks the second time so far this season such a play has occurred to the receiver. "Why this is taking place with Hakeem … you have to catch that ball," Coughlin said. "I can tell you, 'Yeah, the route should have been this way and the quarterback should have put it here,' and so on. You have to catch the ball. If you throw the ball inside the numbers in this league and it is tipped, it's intercepted. That's all there is to it."

Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said he thought WR Brandon Marshall played "really well" during Week 3. "This is two weeks in a row that I thought that he grew, he got better, routes were better and execution was better...and of course made some plays run after the catch," Sparano said.

WR | Roy Williams | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Roy Williams has shown surer hands so far this season after putting in extra work with the pitching machine to work on his hands, reports DallasCowboys.com's Josh Ellis. "So when I see that ball coming out of his arm it looks like the JUGs machine," Williams said. "And it's just repetitive. He [QB Tony Romo] finally got in rhythm with me, I finally got in rhythm with him and it's working for us." Williams has 191 receiving yards through three games, which is second on the team.

TE | Jason Witten | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy

Head coach Tom Cable told Janikowski the team is going to need him, and expects him to win a couple of games for them down the road.

"I thought he did a great job today," head coach Wade Phillips said. "There's always pressure on the kicker. He came through and did a nice job. His job is to make kicks. He did that." Early in the game, Dallas didn't appear to have much confidence in Buehler as they opted to go for it on a fourth-and-two instead of attempting a 47-yard field goal.

Guard

OG | Kyle Kosier | Dallas Cowboys | Injury
Dallas Cowboys OG Kyle Kosier (knee), who tweaked the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in Week 3, said the bye week will help his recovery, and he does not believe he will miss any games, according to Calvin Watkins, of ESPNDallas.com.
