Mound meetings

• Cordero keeps lurkers at bay

  Dusty Baker: still on Team Coco. After being touched up in three of his previous four outings, Francisco Cordero threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning Monday to register his 37th save. The temptation to go to Aroldis Chapman for saves lingers like a fog, but Baker remains willing to run with his vet as long as he's punctuating victories. This is unlikely to be an issue for the regular season.
• Brad Lidge threw another scoreless inning for a save Monday, complete with two K's for the Philadelphia Phillies. What a second half: 2.52 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 27 K's and 18-for-20 in saves in 25 innings. His rejuvenated slider is doing wonders.
