In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Chicago White Sox RP Bobby Jenks
    Jenks can't do it alone
Bobby Jenks' Monday blown save looks like typical fuel for drama with Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen. Jenks allowed a leadoff walk, an RBI single, a double and an infield single. The tying run scored on a throwing error but wound up being an earned run because of the groundout in the next at-bat. That run likely would've scored anyway.
Surprisingly, Ozzie didn't bite. "It isn't Bobby's fault," he said. "I think our bullpen has to pick him up. He's been throwing a lot of innings the last couple of games." With J.J. Putz (knee) and Matt Thornton (forearm) on the disabled list, Jenks has pitched three innings of work in the last two days, and recently threw three frames in one appearance.
  • Fernando Rodney made the most of the three-run lead handed to him by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in his return to closing. After allowing a leadoff walk, Rodney's center fielder committed a fielding error, but they recorded an out at third. A two-out wild pitch scored a run to cut the Halos' lead to two, but Rodney induced a fly-out to wrap it up.
Rodney will probably make it interesting often, but you should focus on his save chances.
