Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - NL

Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Key

Acquire Add player (in most circumstances)
Consider Add for speculation or because of need
Watch Track player, consider if trend continues
Pass Do not add player (in most circumstances)

Outfielders

Manny Ramirez, OF, Chicago White Sox

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Manny Ramirez
Saying goodbye to Hollywood?

MAYBE. Be prepared to throw most of whatever FAAB you have left at the embattled - by his own doing, much of it - hitter. He's the last best thing likely to change leagues this year.

Manny can still hit. Maybe he can't for power so much anymore, but he can still hit. He's batting .313 with a .513 slugging rate. A move to the Cell would certainly up his chances of hitting more dingers, too; Dodger Stadium isn't too nice to power-hitting righties anyway. He'd probably find fewer ways to hurt himself as a permanent DH, too.

Shallow mixed: Acquire

Deep mixed: Acquire

AL-only: Acquire

Brad Hawpe, OF, Tampa Bay Rays

The Colorado Rockies released Hawpe after he cleared waivers. Tampa took a shot on him because he came cheaply on a minor league deal. Hawpe hit .255 with seven homers and 37 RBIs in 259 at-bats with Colorado. Perhaps a change of scenery will do the trick?

Hawpe has displayed serious signs of decline for a while now. He might be a better option than Dan Johnson to back up at first, but only with the stick. He doesn't represent a clear upgrade over Matt Joyce, either. Tampa has discussed bringing up the ghost of Rocco Baldelli to swing it from the right side as DH, too. There's a crowd here, and Hawpe doesn't appear to stand out.
