Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly. Key
CatchersThe Cubs activated Soto (shoulder) from the DL today. He hit .288 with 15 homers and 45 RBIs before his deactivation a couple of weeks ago. Soto is still available in a surprising number of leagues considering his line and ability. In 60 at-bats since the break, he has batted .300 with six homers and 18 RBIs.
Shallow mixed: Acquire Deep mixed: Acquire NL-only: Acquire Rod Barajas, C, Los Angeles Dodgers Barajas is a starter again, now that Hollywood has traded for the much traveled veteran. The New York Mets had no issues dumping him because they'd like to see how Josh Thole handles duties for the rest of 2010. The right-handed Barajas has a .225-12-30 line in 249 at-bats this season. Barajas is far from stable in the batting average department and incredibly streaky, but he might still have it in him to pound out a few dingers the rest of the way. At this stage, the BA impact might be something you can absorb, and his mark has a little room for improvement anyway. LA's lineup is better than that of the Mets. Florida will recall him on Tuesday, and he'll fill in for the departed Cody Ross (San Francisco Giants). The Fish thought this might be the year that the 23-year-old Maybin would put it together and hold down center field. He batted .225 with five homers, six steals and a 0.25 BB/K before Florida shipped him back to the minors. Maybin's biggest obstacle in the majors is control of the strike zone. It's not an issue anywhere else; for Triple-A New Orleans, he struck out 24 times and walked 13 in 147 plate appearances. He hit .338, with four dingers, 23 RBIs and five thefts, too. Maybin has been on fire (.382-3-17 in 82 at-bats) this month. We may be looking at another strong finish in the bigs for the talented youngster. He comes with red flags but is definitely worth the risk. Shallow mixed: Watch Deep mixed: Consider NL-only: Acquire Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - ALAbout Nicholas Minnix
