In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Brian Fuentes
Fuentes keeps the faith for a night
Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Jenks shook off some arm soreness that sidelined him over the weekend to record save No. 15 yesterday. He needed to make only one out, though, after Scott Linebrink registered the first two but also gave up two runs (one earned) and left one on for Jenks.
  • Brian Fuentes gave up only one hit in securing his 11th save for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim yesterday. The outing lowered the closer's ERA from 6.23 to 5.89 and followed his three-run meltdown Sunday. His roller coaster season continues.
  • The Baltimore Orioles could have Mike Gonzalez (shoulder) back next weekend. He'll throw a rehab inning in the Gulf Coast League Friday before taking three outings at Double-A or Triple-A next week. If all goes well, he'll then join the team July 2.
