New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan believes QB Mark Sanchez (knee) might be a bit ahead of schedule in his recovery from offseason knee surgery, reports ESPN.com. Sanchez has been participating in individual and passing drills since the team started their OTAs. Ryan said, "He's doing fantastic. He's probably ahead of where we thought he'd be."

QB | JaMarcus Russell | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Oakland Raiders have filed a grievance against free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) seeking repayment of $9.55 million, reports Jason Cole, of Yahoo! Sports. The grievance is based on the contention by the team that the contract was changed at one point during his three-year stint with the Raiders and that he is not allowed to keep all of the money he collected prior to being released May 7. Part of Russell's guaranteed $32 million was originally in the form of salary advances for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 season. A portion of those salaries is in question, according to the grievance.
