The Chicago Bears could be interested in free-agent QB Josh McCown (Panthers), according to Mike Mulligan, of the Chicago Sun-Times.


Running Back

RB | Brian Westbrook | Free Agent | Free Agents
The St. Louis Rams remain interested in unrestricted free-agent RB Brian Westbrook (Eagles), reports Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

RB | Ben Tate | Houston Texans | Injury
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (hamstring) is not taking part in the Texans' organized team activities because of a hamstring injury, reports HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he hopes Tate can practice next week.

RB | Ronnie Brown | Miami Dolphins | Injury, Fantasy
Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (foot) participated in some of the team's OTA sessions last week, reports Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald. Brown is still not 100 percent and said he sometimes still has soreness in the foot, but he added that the healing process is going well. Brown said, "It's good. The last couple of days, I've been out there, and I've been in the offseason program, so I'm steadily making progress. If I continue to make this kind of progress, it will be pretty good for the season." Brown would not rule out being completely healthy by the time training camp starts.


Wide Receiver

WR | Malcom Floyd | San Diego Chargers | Free Agents
San Diego Chargers restricted free-agent WR Malcom Floyd and OT Marcus McNeill are not expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp this week, reports Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Both are looking for a long-term contract, but the team has been hesitant in giving out a contract because of the uncertainty of the collective bargaining agreement as well as the number of prominent players with pending contract issues.

WR | Vincent Jackson | San Diego Chargers | Free Agents
San Diego Chargers restricted free-agent WR Vincent Jackson is not expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp this week, reports Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune. St. Louis Rams WR Keenan Burton (knee) was able to take part in team drills during the team's offseason workout Monday, May 24, according to Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.


Offensive Tackle

OT | Flozell Adams | Free Agent | Free Agents
A few teams that were interested in free-agent OT Flozell Adams (Cowboys) as a veteran insurance policy backed off and softened the market for his services, according to Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com.


Guard

OG | Logan Mankins | New England Patriots | Free Agents
Frank Bauer, agent for New England Patriots restricted free-agent OG Logan Mankins, said Mankins will not participate in any of the Patriots' organized team activities until he receives a new contract, reports Tom E. Curran, of CSNNewEngland.com. Bauer said their has not been much progress in contract talks with the team.

OG | Justin Smiley | Jacksonville Jaguars | Transaction
The Jacksonville Jaguars have acquired OG Justin Smiley from the Miami Dolphins, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is contingent on Smiley passing a physical. It is not known what the Dolphins would receive in return.


Linebacker

LB | DeMeco Ryans | Houston Texans | Injury
Houston Texans LB DeMeco Ryans (hamstring) and LB Kevin Bentley (back) participated in the team's offseason workouts Monday, May 24, according to HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield. Both were limited last week because of injuries.

LB | Shawne Merriman | San Diego Chargers | Free Agents

Seattle Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu (shoulder) was limited during the team's offseason workout Monday, May 24, because of a sore shoulder, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times.

LB | Keith Brooking | Dallas Cowboys | Injury
Dallas Cowboys LB Keith Brooking (knee) said he hopes to be able to participate in the team's minicamp in June, reports Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News. Brooking acknowledged that the team's medical staff would like to keep him out until training camp. He started a weight program and will begin light running Tuesday, May 25.

LB | Brian Urlacher | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher (wrist) fully participated in all five of the team's minicamp workouts, reports ESPNChicago.com's Jeff Dickerson. Urlacher showed no visible effects from the wrist dislocation that sidelined him last season. Urlacher said, "I feel good. I have no limitations of what I can do on the football field. I feel good. I had a year off, so I feel pretty good. I'm just excited I get to practice again."


Cornerback

CB | Marcus Trufant | Seattle Seahawks | Injury
Seattle Seahawks CB Marcus Trufant said he is now 100 percent healthy after missing six games last season with a nagging back injury, according to Eric D. Williams, of The News Tribune. Trufant plans on using last year's struggles as motivation. "I feel like I've got a lot to prove," Trufant said. "And I want to come out, and I want to do better for my team. I felt like I not only let myself down, but I let my team down by coming back and not playing at the level that I know I can play at. So I'm just here to do the best for my team, and to help the team out as best as possible."
