In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Baltimore Orioles RP Alfredo Simon
    No one challenging Simon
The Baltimore Orioles' Jim Johnson (elbow) won't be ready for at least another eight weeks. Mike Gonzalez (shoulder) is throwing from flat ground but not close to throwing from a mound. Koji Uehara probably will be given some time to work his way back in; he gave up one run on one hit and one walk in one-third of an inning yesterday and isn't considered a closing option yet.
Yup, Alfredo Simon's job should be safe for now.
  • Kevin Gregg endured a shaky save in the Toronto Blue Jays' 3-2 win yesterday. He allowed two runs on three hits and still locked down the save.
Gregg's job isn't in jeopardy, but Jason Frasor, who's next in line, has been pitching better recently and should be creeping back onto your mixed watch lists.
  • We have a Mariano Rivera sighting. The New York Yankees closer threw a scoreless inning yesterday. It was his first appearance of the month after he been bothered by a side injury and then wasn't needed last weekend.
