Calvin Watkins, of ESPNDallas.com, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin, who is a pending restricted free agent, said Saturday, Feb. 13, he is not worried about his contract status with the team. "No, not worried at all," Austin said. "I have all the confidence in the world in the organization and I'm sure everything will be worked out right." Austin could command about $6 million on average if he were to sign a long-term deal with the Cowboys in the offseason.

The Dolphins are unlikely to acquire Jackson, as the Chargers have the option to match any offer or get draft-pick compensation.

Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald, reports Carolina Panthers DL Ma'ake Kemoeatu (Achilles') has begun a long rehab process after last year's torn Achilles' tendon. While the initial surgery went well, Kemoeatu needed a secondary procedure to help the wound heal properly. His agent, Ken Vierra, said last week that Kemoeatu was walking on a treadmill and doing exercises with resistance. He's not quite ready to jog on a treadmill, and may not be for several weeks. The goal is for Kemoeatu to be well enough to participate in training camp.


Linebacker

The New York Post reports Arizona Cardinals LB Karlos Dansby expressed interest in playing for four other teams next season during an interview on Sirius Radio. Dansby is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. SNY's Adam Schein wrote on his Twitter page that Dansby said during the interview he would be interested in playing for the New York Giants, San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins.

Barry Jackson, of The Miami Herald, reports free-agent LB Zach Thomas (Chiefs) says he has played his last NFL game and would "love to" sign with the Miami Dolphins for one day so he can retire as a Dolphin. Thomas is still having symptoms from concussions, "including fuzziness when it gets cold."
