Pros: Plaxico Burress' legal troubles opened the door last year for Hixon, who caught at least four passes in five of the Giants' last six games, over which he snagged 28 passes. Given he has shown he can be the top dog, Hixon has the best shot at filling Burress' role to start the 2009 season. His acceptable 13.9 average yards per haul gives the Giants some semblance of a downfield threat, just enough to balance out their offense a bit.

Cons: Hixon failed to log a catch longer than 41 yards last year; that's not bad, but the G-men are expecting playmaking skills from him - that is, when they're not running for the majority of their offensive plays. Rookies Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden have legitimate shots at significant looks, with one possibly taking over the top role if he progresses this year. 

Fantasy tip: Hixon is the likeliest receiver to assume New York's No. 1 receiver role when Week 1 comes around, but that doesn't mean he'll stick there. This is why he should only be a low-end No. 4 wideout; the presence of Nicks and Barden will be hanging over him. How much is the Giants' No. 1 receiver really worth, anyway?
