Pros: If he shows improvement in his sprained ankle that hobbled him, he can improve on the meek 33 receptions he posted last year. He still has physicality when running routes. Before last year, Chambers had missed just two games since 2001. Any receiver who sees ample chances in head coach Norv Turner's system (see: Malcom Floyd) should have a few good fantasy weeks here and there.

Cons: We don't want to say he'll repeat his empty 2008 performance, but he doesn't have much more upside to offer. Chambers, turning 31 before the season starts, still won't overtake receiver Vincent Jackson or tight end Antonio Gates in the passing game hierarchy. After scoring five touchdowns in the first five weeks of play, Chambers didn't find the end zone in his final nine games. He only caught more than three passes three times last year.

Fantasy tip: He'll need to have a big contract year to prove to the Chargers - and other squads - that he has something left. Taking him as a low-end No. 4 would fly if you wait on the position, but he probably won't give you much besides a potential return to his 2007 output. He's typically being called around the 10th round; his value comes down a bit in PPR leagues.
