Pros: The ying to Thomas Jones' yang last year; Washington averaged 5.9 yards per carry (448 yards on only 76 carries) for his second straight season with 5.0-plus clip. He also enjoyed three plays of 40-plus yards and three of 20-plus yards. Jones, the starter, is not unhappy with his deal, although he still wants a new contract with the team (holdout alert). Washington has the most experience of the backups on New York's roster.

Cons: Washington doesn't profile as a grind-it-out back; he's more of a big-play, change-of-pace specialist. Jones is still in town (he showed up for OTAs early in June) and has even bulked up; rookie running back Shonn Greene (5-foot-11, 227 pounds) has the size (maybe not the smarts, though) to land an everyday role. Washington's contract status could negatively affect his play.

Fantasy tip: Washington is undoubtedly better in point-per-reception leagues. He's a serviceable No. 3 back, although there isn't much upside. Look for him in the late eighth round in point-per-reception leagues. He doesn't offer much upside as a back in non-PPR leagues, though. He's a bit of a reach in the middle of the ninth round.
